Orthodontics

We proudly offer many orthodontic solutions, from traditional braces to Invlisalign® clear aligners. Whether you have minor or major misalignments, our skilled orthodontists can help your smile look and feel better using traditional braces or removable appliances.

Orthodontics is a branch of dentistry specializing in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of jaw, face, and bite irregularities. An orthodontist can adjust and straighten your teeth in order to correct medical problems, make teeth easier to clean and therefore less vulnerable to decay, or just to make your smile more attractive.

Reasons for Orthodontics

  • Gapped teeth
  • Overlapping teeth
  • Misaligned teeth
  • Bite problems (including overbite)
  • Problems related to childhood thumb sucking

What Does Orthodontics Involve?

Orthodontic treatment typically requires at least a year of treatment. Brackets will be permanently bonded to your teeth and secured to a wire using rubber bands. Your orthodontist will adjust your braces every 4 to 6 weeks in order to coax your teeth into their proper positions.

You will be given specific instructions from your orthodontist regarding what foods you must avoid and how to clean your teeth while you have braces. Typically, after orthodontic treatment is complete, you will be given a retainer to wear, which will help make sure that your teeth do not shift out of their new, straight positions.

Invisalign® Treatment

If you’ve been afraid to fix your crooked teeth because of the pain, anxiety, and aesthetic concerns associated with traditional metal braces, you will be excited to hear about Invisalign. Invisalign is refreshingly different from traditional braces, yet every bit as effective in correcting most types of tooth misalignment in teens and adults.

Invisible. Comfortable. Removable

Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable trays called aligners to gradually move your teeth into their proper positions. Since Invisalign is practically invisible, there’s no unwarranted attention to your mouth. In fact, very few people will notice at all – unless you tell them. Unlike metal braces that can potentially irritate the mouth with sharp edges and wires, Invisalign trays are smooth and comfortable. They can be removed when you want to eat, drink, brush, and floss, which means that you don’t have to worry about dietary restrictions or special cleaning techniques like you do with traditional braces.

Shorten your treatment time!

The average treatment time for Invisalign is about a year. You wear a set of aligners for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each set of aligners with the next in the series, your teeth will gradually move until they reach the position the doctor has prescribed for you. You don’t have to visit the doctor each time you need new aligners – instead, you will visit about every 6 weeks, or as required by your doctor.

Is Invisalign for me?

Invisalign can be used to treat the vast majority of common bite and alignment problems for adults and teens. Whether your smile needs minor improvements or more extensive adjustments, Invisalign can certainly help. It’s successful in treating overly crowded or widely spaced teeth. It can also resolve more complex issues, including overbites, underbites, and even crossbites.

Look your best during and after treatment.

Of course, you want to look great, whether you’re at work, at school, or with friends. Maybe you speak to groups or conduct meetings. With Invisalign, you can do all these activities without worrying about how you look. Because Invisalign is clear and nearly invisible, most people will never know you’re straightening your teeth. And when your course of treatment has ended, you can feel more confident, whether in front of people or not. You’re going to have a stunning smile!
